We are local Clinton Hill moms who were on the search for a good quality kids and maternity resale clothing shop. When we found few options we decided the best thing was to join forces and start our own shop. Still Hip! Raising and outfitting children can be very expensive these days, especially in NYC. We agreed that resale was the best way to save money as well as a great way to help our landfills from overflowing.
MARCIE
Marcie grew up a happy suburban kid in Philadelphia and was drawn to the big city to attend NYU where she graduated with a major in Art History. Her first job out of school was as an intern at Sotheby's but she jumped at an opportunity to be part of the historic Matisse exhibit at the MoMA working out of the Director's office. She then went on to be an assistant to a motion picture agent at ICM but was lured back to MoMA to work on the architect selection process for the museum's expansion project. When her husband, Brian, got into UC Berkeley's MBA program they moved to Berkeley and San Francisco in 1997. They kicked off this exciting next chapter of their lives by taking a month to drive and camp cross-country. While in California, Marcie worked at Gap, Inc. in Old Navy Marketing. Although it was an amazing 3 years in on of the most beautiful parts of the country, finding out that they were expecting their first child made them want to return east to be closer to family. Six years later, Marcie is busy being a stay at home mom to her growing brood of three.
GABBY
Gabrielle was born and raised in Brooklyn. Her family lived on a small block in Park Slope where 4 generations of their family had lived before. After making it through Brooklyn College and earning a degree in Art History like Marcie, Gabrielle was ready for the big league. She started working in advertising. Her career peaked when she became the Senior Art Director for a small firm dedicated to direct mail. In her spare time, she worked as a visual artist recycling furniture to create functional art. When Gabrielle became a mother she opened an online shop and teamed up with other artists to create fresh designs to help kids dress like superstars. Now she and her husband are raising their two superstars and loving life in Clinton Hill.
